Frankie Rose - Interstellar
Dawniej w takich zespołach jak Vivian Girls albo Dum Dum Girls, póżniej jako Frankie Rose & The Outs, teraz tylko solo - nowa płyta.
Polecam wszystkim shoegazowiczom!
If you could throw New Order, Cocteau Twins, The Go-Go's, Vangelis' Bladerunner soundtrack and The Breeders into a 25-year-old blender and hit "pulse" -- you might get something resembling Interstellar, the latest (and aptly named) stylistic incarnation of Brooklyn alt-pop queen Frankie Rose. Epic pop dreamscapes splashed on an expansive stylistic canvas, Interstellar's plush, spacious grandeur is simultaneously retro with vivid 80's flashbacks and modern: "I knew I wanted a huge sounding record," declares Rose. "Big highs, big lows, and clean." While her past work has referenced Spector-ish girl group nostalgia created in a cluttered garage, new songs such as "Gospel Grace" and "Moon In My Mind" are like celestial synth-pop shoegaze (if your shoes are actually anti-gravity space boots). The beats are bubbling electronic stew, Rose's atmospheric and airy vocals twisted tight in rapturous harmony as waves of glittering guitar chords blink down from the clouds.
